Lead singer Matt Vasquez looked a bit more clean cut than the last time Delta Spirit rolled through town in August of last year, but his demeanor was true to form. He talked about how it’s unfair that they only gets to come to Chicago a couple times a year, drank some beers on stage, and fucking rocked.
This may have been the best $20 concert I’ve ever been to. They’re on tour to promote their new self-titled record, but they still came through with the fan favs from the first two albums. They played White Table early and the crowd went nuts when they closed out their encore with Trashcan. Check out the setlist.
If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, you can stream their whole new album for free on their site.
Interesting side note – Matt Vasquez has a side project called Middle Brother with John McCauley from Deer Tick and Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes that is pretty solid.
Collin, don’t curse, you’re better than that.
