So I’m dumb and bought tickets to Of Montreal and Rodriguez on the same night. I’m going to Rodriguez because he might not come back around, but tell me this doesn’t look fun:

Rodriguez @ Arie Crown Theater
8:00 pm – 11:45 pm

Sixto Rodriguez is coming to the Arie Crown Theatre for a show put together by the good people at Schuba’s and Lincoln Hall. If you haven’t seen Searching for Sugar Man yet, you should really check out his story of great early 70s records that flopped in the US, unknown fame in South Africa and the hunt for the mysterious man from Detroit.

Oct 4 Fri

8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Openers: Falldown, Samantha Harlow

Feb 15 Sat
Crane Wives @ Schuba's

Apr 2 Wed
Mac DeMarco @ Empty Bottle
6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Opener: Juan Wauters

The late show sold out before I got my shit together, so I’m going to the 6:30 show. I saw this young Canadian at Pitchfork and he was awesome. I’m looking forward to this one. Bonus – I can be drunk and home by 10:00 pm.

May 16 Fri
of Montreal @ Lincoln Hall
9:00 pm – 11:45 pm

I passed up seeing these weirdos the last time they played Lincoln Hall because Rodriguez was playing the same night. My take was that Rodriguez might not be back around, but of Montreal will. And I was right. Going to get down at this one.

Jul 26 Sat
RJD2 @ Wicker Park Fest
9:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Laura Stevenson is also playing Saturday at 6:00 pm.
